METHOD

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C/ 160°C fan-forced in preparation for this Christmas cookie recipe. Grease and line 2-3 baking trays with baking paper.
  2. Using an electric mixer, beat butter, sugar and NESTLÉ Sweetened Condensed Milk on high speed until pale and creamy. Reduce speed to low, add flour, baking powder and vanilla essence; mix until the dough just comes together.
  3. Using a wooden spoon, stir in NESTLÉ BAKERS’ CHOICE Milk CHOC BITS. Roll level tablespoons of mixture into balls, place on prepared trays; using fingertips gently flatten. Arrange extra NESTLÉ BAKERS’ CHOICE Milk CHOC BITS to make Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’s eyes and pretzel shapes to make antlers.
  4. Bake 15 minutes. Remove from oven and gently press in ALLEN’S JAFFAS whist cookies are still warm and soft, to form Rudolph’s nose.
TIP:
Left over Sweetened Condensed Milk from this Christmas cookie recipe is great for making yummy hot choc! Simply place remaining condensed milk, 1/4 cup cocoa powder and 1 tsp vanilla essence in a saucepan on low heat; stir until combined then gradually stir in 2 cups of milk; heat through and enjoy!

There is literally no limit to the amount of fancy baking equipment you can stock up on. But we like to keep things simple, so here are the 3 essential utensils that every baker needs:

Microwave Bowls
  1. Microwave-safe bowls: Often when you’re baking you need to soften or melt ingredients, and the quickest and easiest way is to do this in the microwave.

Microwave-safe bowls can also double up as mixing bowls.

Baloon Whisk
  1. A hand whisk: A handheld whisk will allow you to feel the texture of your mixture as you’re whisking it.

Measuring Cups
  1. Measuring cups & spoons: Measuring cups and spoons ensure you use accurate quantities of all ingredient.
