preheat oven to 200°c/180°c fan forced. line 2 baking trays with baking paper.
beat butter and sugar together until light and creamy; beat in milk and vanilla.
sift NESTLÉ baking cocoa, flour and custard powder over butter mixture and mix to a soft dough. wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
roll out biscuit dough between 2 sheets of baking paper to 1/2 cm thick. using christmas cutters, cut out shapes. using a skewer, make a small ribbon hole in the top of each biscuit.
bake 15-18 minutes or until firm. cool on trays; decorate with NESTLÉ white melts and NESTLÉ smarties. tie with a ribbon and hang on your christmas tree.
