preheat oven to 180°c/160°c fan forced. grease and line a 20cm round cake pan.
combine UNCLE TOBYS traditional oats and buttermilk in a medium bowl; soak 15 minutes.
meanwhile, cream butter and sugar until light and creamy; add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. fold in half the flour, banana and soaked oats; mix well. fold through remaining flour, banana and soaked oats.
pour into prepared pan. bake 60 minutes or until a skewer insertedinto the centre comes out clean. cool 10 minutes in pan before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
