preheat oven to 180°c/160°c fan forced. grease two, 12 hole patty pans.
place flour, butter, sugar, eggs and milk in a bowl and beat with electric beaters for 2 minutes until smooth and light. lightly fold in almonds and jam.
spoon tablespoonfuls into prepared pan. bake 15-20 minutes or until golden. remove from pan and repeat with remaining mixture. transfer to a cooling rack to cool.
coat rounded sides of cakes (trim base if necessary) with some of the NESTLÉ white melts.
divide remaining NESTLÉ white melts in half, stir pink food colouring into one half and green food colouring into the other half. decorate the easter cakes with the pink and green coloured NESTLÉ melts. if desired, decorate with silver cachous and coloured sprinkles or hundreds & thousands.
