preheat oven to 180°c/160°c fan forced. grease and base line a 23cm round cake pan with baking paper.
combine NESTLÉ white melts and 2 tbsp of cream in a small saucepan. stir constantly over a low heat until melted. remove from heat; set aside.
cream butter, sugar and vanilla together until light and fluffy. add eggs one at a time (mixture may curdle a little). stir in NESTLÉ milk melts then fold in sifted NESTLÉ baking cocoa and flour with remaining cream.
spread half the cake mixture in the prepared pan. swirl through half the NESTLÉ white melts and arrange half the cherries over the top. top with remaining cake mixture, then remaining NESTLÉ white melts and cherries.
bake 55-60 minutes or until cooked. cool in pan for 10 minutes before cooling on a wire rack. if desired serve dusted with icing sugar and serve with whipped cream.
