in a small saucepan over low heat, add butter and NESTLÉ dark melts, stirring occasionally until melted and smooth. remove from heat; cool 5 minutes.
stir in eggs, caster sugar, brown sugar and vanilla essence.
in a separate bowl sift flour, NESTLÉ baking cocoa and baking powder. stir in chocolate mixture and NESTLÉ caramel bits. mix well. shape mixture into golf ball sized portions; place onto prepared trays; bake for 10 minutes. stand five minutes on trays before transferring cookies to a wire rack to cool.
