  1. Place the hot water, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar in a large saucepan on medium-high heat; add pears so their stems face upright and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until they are just tender, (you can test this by inserting a small knife into each pear).
  2. Remove pears from the liquid and allow to completely cool in the fridge; discard liquid.
  3. Meanwhile, make the caramel sauce by combining NESTLÉ Sweetened Condensed Milk, butter and golden syrup in small pan and stir over a moderate heat until boiling; reduce heat and stir constantly for 5-7 minutes until it thickened; allow cool to room temperature.
  4. Once the pears have cooled, dip each one into the caramel sauce, followed by the shredded coconut; place on a baking tray lined with baking paper and set in the fridge.
If you have any remaining caramel sauce, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Pairs perfectly with poured over ice cream and sliced bananas.
