combine NESTLÉ Sweetened Condensed Milk, sugar, butter and syrup in a medium saucepan. using a heatproof spatula, stir over low heat until smooth and sugar has dissolved, scraping down the sides of the pan every now and then.
bring to the boil, stirring constantly for about 12-15 minutes or until mixture is dark caramel in colour, remove from heat; allow bubbles to subside.
pour into prepared pan, refrigerate overnight. cut into pieces using a lightly oiled knife.
