preheat oven to 180°c/160°c fan forced. line a 20cm round cake pan with baking paper.
place figs, ginger and orange juice in a small saucepan, cook over a medium heat until mixture comes to the boil and thickens.
remove from heat, add butter, bicarbonate of soda and sugar, mix well. cool slightly.
stir in eggs, flour and nestlÉ dark choc bits; spoon into prepared pan. bake 40 minutes or until a skewer insertedinto the centre comes out clean.

stir over a low heat until sauce boils and thickens. serve with warm fig pudding.
