preheat oven to 180°c/160°c fan forced. line 2 baking trays with baking paper.
melt 2 cups (300g) of NESTLÉ white melts as directed on packet.
using electric beaters, cream butter, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy; beat in melted NESTLÉ white melts and egg. stir in flour and mix to a dough. wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate 30 minutes.
roll out dough between sheets of baking paper to a thickness of 5mm. cut dough into star shapes. place on prepared trays and bake 15 minutes or until light golden. cool on a wire rack.
melt remaining NESTLÉ white melts and use to decorate biscuits.
