  1. heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat; add onion and carrot; cook for 5 minutes or until onion is soft. add tomatoes, tomato paste, barley, stock and MAGGI original seasoning. bring to the boil, reduce heat; simmer for 30 minutes.
  2. add the peas; simmer for 2-3 minutes; add spinach and parsley and simmer for further 1-2 minutes.
